Ebbon-Dacs reports surge in new vehicle orders through Leaselink

The e-procurement specialist for major leasing and fleet management companies said that from 1st 2013 to the end of August this year, there was a 42% increase in the number of new cars and light commercial vehicles ordered through Leaselink.

And this calendar year, well in excess of 150,000 new vehicles are now likely to be sourced, ordered and delivered through the system, which is in the process of being upgraded to its second generation for all users.

Ebbon-Dacs cited a number of reasons behind the increase in new vehicle orders, including the signing of a number of new fleet customers, including several major leasing and fleet management companies.

There is also an increasing trend towards electronic new vehicle ordering as the market standard in the UK fleet arena due to advances in technology.

At the same time as the surge in orders through Leaselink, Oxford-based Ebbon-Dacs has also witnessed a significant increase in the number of vehicles being delivered and collected through its electronic vehicle delivery and collection solution, MoDel.

In the last 12 months, there has been a 48% rise in the number of vehicles going through the MoDel system as awareness increases amongst users of the benefits of implementing the system.

As part of its continued investment in the system, Ebbon-Dacs is now piloting an Android smart phone and tablet version of MoDel, which will be brought to market shortly.

Ebbon-Dacs has recently invested in new functionality and a new look for Leaselink, including a third party module specifically for commercial vehicle convertors and fitment specialists. This allows leasing companies to track the progress of any new commercial vehicles that have been ordered but which require converting to meet the fleet customer’s specific requirements.

The new-look Leaselink is being rolled out in stages with the initial emphasis on new functionality modules, before the roll out of a new user interface across the whole platform.

Robert Pilkington, managing director of the Leaselink International division of Ebbon-Dacs, said: ‘We have placed huge emphasis this year on the development of our new generation of Leaselink, which we review regularly with our leasing company and dealer users to ensure it meets their demands.

‘We are now looking forward to deploying the modules we have built in 2014 and developing many further capabilities on the new platform through 2015.’
