DPF cleaning specialist makes significant investment in fleet business

DPF Clean Team says that cleaning DPF units instead of having to fork out for expensive replacement parts can provide a far more cost effective maintenance option for fleet operators.

As a result, the firm has made a significant investment in the new cleaning equipment, which will enable it to clean up to 1,000 Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) units a month for fleets, cars, light commercial transport, and heavy goods vehicles. The five-figure investment will also create three further team member roles within the fast-growing Leicestershire-based firm.

Cameron Bryce, director of DPF Clean Team, which already works with many of the UK's car supermarkets, Leicestershire Metropolitan Police Force, Avis and Europcar, said: ‘There is a strong link between CO2 output and fleet costs because emissions are proportional to the volume of fuel a vehicle burns, as many are aware.

‘What people may not be aware of is that, just like any other component on their vehicles, the DPF unit requires regular maintenance and cleaning because the cost of replacement can be high. Regular checks and cleaning can also improve efficiencies, which can fall as the unit gets clogged, an extremely important consideration for fleet managers looking to keep costs on an even keel throughout the year.’

The new equipment not only cleans DPFs, but the dry-cleaning process is also used for a host of different automotive components which can be expensive to replace if they become worn.
