CLM brings fresh approach to driver app

CLM Fleet Management has launched a driver app that’s available to all its end-users and brings a range of helpful features.

Called Smart Exchange, the app offers access to facilities including service booking, breakdown recovery, accident management, tyre and windscreen replacement as well as CLM’s bespoke vehicle rental system.

Crucially, the app gives drivers a choice of how they interact when making a booking for their vehicle or accessing other services. The choice of online interaction or click-to-call straight through to the relevant team has been designed to deliver a ‘best of both worlds’ approach. It also has secure messaging functionality that can be used to communicate important information to the driver about their vehicle.

CLM has also opened up Smart Exchange to all drivers of CLM-managed vehicles. Drivers don’t need their employer to register to receive the app.

John Lawrence, managing director at CLM, also said integration has been another key element of the design philosophy.

“We knew it was essential that the app integrated seamlessly with our online portal, Fleet Active, but we have also worked closely with our key suppliers to ensure that the driver experience is not affected when booking services through third-parties.”
