Clancy Group selects TRACKER fleet telematics in effort to drive down costs
In addition to recognising the power of TRACKER’s fleet monitoring solutions, Clancy Group will benefit from TRACKER’s pioneering telematics capabilities to deliver the ultimate fleet tracking and security solution, in addition to TRACKER’s award-winning stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) offering.
With a fleet of over 1,500 vehicles, plus 10,000 items of plant, Clancy Group, operates across the utility, transportation, power and infrastructure sectors. With offices across the UK, from Livingston in Scotland to Longham, in the South, Clancy Group has a strong base in the water sector, as well as a significant presence in the gas, electricity, rail and highways markets.
The TRACKER fleet telematics solution reports real time information about the usage of plant, such as engine running hours, and allows Clancy Group to set a location radius within which the plant can move freely, alerting them if it is moved outside of this location, known as Geofencing. The system will even inform Clancy Group when servicing of equipment is due. TRACKER summary reports are emailed weekly containing clear and concise plant data, both on an individual item of plant or as a group, for easy monitoring.
Stephen Doran (Inset), managing director of TRACKER, commented: 'We have invested significantly in the last 18 months in developing our telematics solutions to bring our customers a greater level of functionality and data, providing a vital insight into driver behaviour and safety, across all sectors. Clancy operates a large fleet across the UK and is already using TRACKER telematics to enhance fleet efficiency, increase delivery output and meet its duty of care requirements. Our solutions are bringing real savings and advantages to our customers, and we will continue to deliver these business benefits to a growing audience.'
Bernie Stack, Associate director for Clancy Plant Hire Ltd, said: 'TRACKER’s telematics product has become an integral part of our business, providing detailed information on speeding, idling, driver hours, journey times and mileage. We are still finding new benefits the system can bring to our business and have only scratched the surface, when it comes to all the bespoke reports we can create to help us maximise the efficiency of our fleet and look after the wellbeing of our drivers.
'We are also utilising TRACKER’s stolen vehicle recovery offering, which is fitted to all of our vehicles, including our plant assets, providing added peace of mind. We chose TRACKER’s SVR product after investigating various systems. We opted for TRACKER for various reasons, including the GPS and VHF detection capability, recommendation from existing customers, association with the police force and the proven recovery capability we had seen with the small number of vehicles on our fleet already fitted with a TRACKER,' he continued.
TRACKER stolen vehicle recovery draws upon a combination of GPS and GSM, but with the added benefit of TRACKER’s successful and proven Very High Frequency (VHF) radio technology. Fundamentally, this is brought together in a robust and waterproof unit, proven to withstand the harshest equipment usage, ensuring fleet managers are able to monitor usage whatever the conditions and wherever plant and construction equipment is being used.
Furthermore TRACKER’s SVR product offers an unrivalled level of protection against theft, as well as significantly increasing the chances of recovery. So powerful is TRACKER’s stolen vehicle recovery system that it is Thatcham approved, offering added quality assurance and the possibility of an insurance discount, and is the only SVR solution used by all UK police forces.
