But this looks like one area of good news for the company’s LCV sales in an otherwise disappointing year. Citroen saw light CV registrations up to 3,500kg gross vehicle weight (GVW) decline in the UK by 4.4% during 2011 to 17,275, according to SMMT data and was the only top 10 light CV performer to see sales drop during the year. Citroen’s 2011 LCV performance followed a 16.75% rise in registrations during 2010, which made the company the fifth best selling light CV manufacturer during that year.

The company finished 2011 in seventh place, behind partner brand Peugeot, which saw light CV sales increase by 18% to 19,328 during the year. Many models in the two companies LCV ranges are based on the same vehicle, such as the Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner, Dispatch and Expert and Relay and Boxer. The Dispatch/Expert and Relay/Boxer are built in joint ventures with Fiat Professional, which saw 2011 UK LCV registrations rise by 16.5% to 8,130. Overall light CV registrations in the UK rose on average by 16.7% during 2011 to 260,153.
