Brightmile has launched the latest version of its driver app following a major revamp to significantly boost driver engagement in safety for global fleet customers.

The app is designed to intervene when a driver performs an ‘unsafe action’ by providing e-learning content

The app, developed in partnership with Drivetech, is designed to intervene when a driver performs an ‘unsafe action’ by providing e-learning content to help change the risky behaviour. As the platform is mobile-based, it’s easy to deploy for all employee-driven vehicles, including company cars and the grey fleet, while an online portal provides managers with fleet-level safety trends and areas for improvement.

The upgraded platform has been designed to improve the entire user experience, now providing a single risk score for drivers for instant driving assessment. Vehicle safety checks and incident reports have been added, while the app’s driver rewards system has also been updated so each company can set its own targets and prizes, taking driver engagement to a new level.

The update also includes improved e-learning from Drivetech featuring accessibility improvements such as better contrast for those with certain eye conditions. This will shortly be made available to all of Drivetech’s customers, along with the improved user experience on mobile devices.

The upgrade has been developed in response to customer feedback.

Dominic Saunders, CEO and co-founder of Brightmile, said: “Brightmile focuses on business driving, providing real-time feedback on driver behaviour and gamifying improvements to encourage safer driving habits. We’re delighted to unveil the latest version of the app, in which drivers have access to more personalised rewards, whether that’s to gain prizes or to donate to charity, to provide yet another boost for fleet safety.”

“We’ve dedicated significant effort to refining the BrightCoach e-learning experience,” added Leo Taylor, head of product at Drivetech. “Our goal is to ensure that driver education is not only effective but also engaging and impactful. With Brightmile’s platform, we’re bringing this commitment to a wider audience.”
