BP adds more charger networks to Fuel & Charge fleet payment card

BP has added new charge point operators to its Fuel and Charge payment card, giving fleet customers access to over 12,000 electric vehicle charge points across the UK.

Drivers can now use the BP Fuel & Charge card at Ionity, Osprey, Fastned, Chargepoint EV, EB Charging, EV Box and Allego chargers

Networks now accepted by the card include Ionity, Osprey, Fastned, Chargepoint EV, EB Charging, EV Box and Allego. These join BP Pulse – one of the UK’s largest on-the-go charging providers – alongside the 3,000 BP branded and partner retail sites giving access to fuel.

Further announcements will follow in a “pipeline of plans” to expand roaming acceptance further for fleet customers.

The roaming expansion aligns with BP’s mobility ambition to support the electrification of fleets; its research last year found nearly half of fleet managers (43%) and fleet drivers (41%) thought they would begin the transition to EVs within two years but on-the-go charging is still a concern for 53% of managers and 52% of drivers.

Adrian Brabazon, head of UK fleet solutions at BP, commented: “We are committed to supporting fleets of all sizes to help them achieve their decarbonisation goals. We believe that access to a strong on-the-go charging network is crucial to help fleets make the transition to EVs. This huge expansion with access to 12,000 charge points will help our Fuel & Charge customers meet their goals.”

BP is also working to swiftly expand the BP Pulse network. It’s committed to spend £1bn on EV charging infrastructure. The work includes plans to increase its rapid and ultra-fast charging network fivefold by 2030, installing hundreds of charging hubs in urban areas, on trunk roads and motorways and at destinations such as retail parks and hotels to provide high-speed charging.
