BCA continues online auction programme to keep remarketing sector moving

BCA is continuing its online auction programme, supported by a range of remote processes to ensure health and safety is not compromised during the pandemic.

The new mobile Buyer App has been developed following extensive feedback from BCA's customer base.

Buyers can use BCA Online via a laptop or PC or use the BCA Buyer app

Although a number of remarketing firms are now restarting online operations to deal with an anticipated surge in fleet disposals as lockdown measures ease, BCA has been selling online since 25 March. It’s running a variety of channels including BCA Buy Now (instant purchase), BCA Bid Now (regular online fixed timed auctions) and Virtual Sales (real time competitive online bidding). Buyers can use BCA Online via a laptop or PC or use the BCA Buyer app.

Typically, through the Buy Now channel, up to 15,000 vehicles are available for purchase 24/7 with many repriced daily using BCA’s real-time market driven intelligence.

BCA’ programme of Virtual Sales events also continues to grow.

All payments for vehicles must be transacted online remotely and BCA has suspended the additional online fee to support its customers during the current ongoing situation. Using BCA’s logistics operations, buyers are able to complete their transactions by having their purchases delivered.

Stuart Pearson, COO BCA UK Remarketing, said: “Our priority is to support our people and all of our customers as best we can during this incredibly difficult time.

“The motor industry is incredibly resilient and with well-established operating models severely disrupted, we have developed new ways of working together with our people, suppliers, partners and customers that comply with safety legislation and government guidance.

“Our scale ensured that thousands of vehicles were prepared for sale prior to the enforced lockdown and, as a result, there has been a huge amount of customer interaction through our online channels, with activity growing daily.”

Pearson also commented on future trends, including rising demand for auction services in the coming weeks and months.

“It’s an evolving picture and whilst there is a long way to go before many businesses get back to anything like normal, momentum is definitely building and BCA will continue to look for innovative ways to support its customers during the months ahead,” he continued.
