Auto Windscreens to roll out network of fitting hubs

The move, which will see the first fitting hub implemented in Peterborough, follows a full analysis of the business which revealed that customers benefited from the choice of having their vehicle glass repaired either by a mobile technician or at a designated centre. Previously the company operated a wholly mobile fleet-based service.

Additional sites, with Portsmouth and Oxford next in line, are expected to launch over the coming months in targeted locations identified as operational ‘hotspots’. These will add to the company’s Chesterfield HQ and Regional Deployment Centres in Belfast, Leicester, Leeds, Newcastle and Preston.

As a result of the new network, Auto Windscreens is also looking to recruit a number of technicians to join its workforce.

James Macbeth, operations director, commented: “Peterborough is just the beginning! We plan to introduce Auto Windscreens Fitting Hubs across the UK in order to provide a better service and support our mobile fleet. The network will offer customers a flexible option of when and where they want to have their windscreen repair or replacement carried out, while also providing technicians with a suitable environment to work on more complex screens, as we see an increasing number of technology-packed vehicles entering the automotive market.”

He added: “As always, we’ve got our sights set firmly on our goal of Total Customer Satisfaction!”
