Aston Barclay has made a series of senior management changes that it says will further enhance support for its buyers and optimise vendor performance.

The group said the senior management changes would further enhance support for buyers and optimise vendor performance

Under the changes, Mark Hankey, chief revenue officer, is moving to a more flexible working arrangement following 18 months of establishing a new sales team and building the vendor base.

He will continue to support the sales team, which is led by current director of sales Nick Thompson, who now assumes a leadership role within the senior leadership team.

Justin Lane, currently chief operating officer, now becomes chief customer officer and will provide dedicated leadership to support the sale of over 100,000 cars and vans annually.

Lisa Grimsley joins the company as its new group chief operating officer. She brings extensive experience in the auction business with both BCA and Aston Barclay and will oversee all group operations including auctions, logistics and refurbishment. Grimsley will also take on operational accountability for running TCBG, the group’s consumer car buying service.

Aston Barclay has also welcomed Sean Russell as its new director of marketing, taking on responsibility for further building the Aston Barclay and The Car Buying Group (TCBG) brands within their relevant business sectors.

The company has also announced that CEO Tom Marley has left the business by mutual agreement to pursue other opportunities. Marley was previously managing director of The Car Buying Group, which was acquired by Aston Barclay in 2018.

The new-look Aston Barclay Group is led by executive chairman Greg MacLeod, who said: “These management team changes reflect the group’s commitment to growth and delivering exceptional customer service. We are confident they will help us focus on pulling the key levers that drive performance for our group and customers.”
