40% of fleets not using public EV charging
Two in five (40%) of fleets do not use any public charging due to concerns over access and billing.

The survey, produced for electric fuel card specialist Paua by 360 Media Group, was carried out among 200 fleet managers and found more than 70% of car fleets and some 76% of van fleets are intending to order electric vehicles during 2022. But only just over half surveyed said they use public charging.
However, 85% agreed they would use public charging if there was a single solution to access multiple charge points without the need for multiple apps, cards and membership schemes.
Meanwhile, 54% of potential electric vehicle drivers indicated that public charging is a barrier to their adoption of the technology.
“What is incredible about this response is the missed opportunity that public charging networks are facing due to the complexity that fleets face accessing and using the solution,” said Niall Riddell, CEO and co-founder of public charging specialist Paua.

The Paua electric fuel card enables drivers to find, charge and pay for charging via a mobile app or RFID card and provides access to 3,000+ charge points, using filters based on the latest data. It covers popular networks such as Mer, Osprey, Char.gy and Fastned.
