2022 Kia Ceed: Prices and specs revealed

Kia has announced pricing and specifications for the updated Ceed model family, which introduces significant styling upgrades and latest connectivity and convenience tech for the 2022 model year.

New Ceed GT-Line MY22

Priced from £20,105, the newly upgraded line-up includes the Ceed five-door hatchback, Ceed Sportswagon (SW) estate and ProCeed five-door shooting brake, all of which get an entirely redesigned front-end, sporty updates to the rear, restyled alloys and refreshed body colours and interior. As a result, each variant, including GT Line and GT versions, is more differentiated. All versions also get Kia’s new logo revealed at the start of the year.

Powertrains are carried over and include the 120hp 1.0 T-GDi turbo direct injection petrol or a 136hp 1.6 CRDi diesel with 48V mild-hybrid technology, solely available in the hatchback. There’s also a 160hp 1.5 T-GDi petrol engine available in higher-grade models and with a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed double-clutch transmission, while the performance ProCeed ‘GT’ has a 204hp 1.6-litre T-GDi engine with seven-speed DCT.

Trim line-up for the Ceed Sportswagon spans ‘2’, ‘2 Nav’ and ‘3’ grades while the Ceed hatchback comes with ‘2’, ‘3’ and ‘GT Line’ choices.

Entry-level equipment on the ‘2’ range includes 16-inch alloys, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors, leather-trimmed steering wheel, cruise control with speed limiter, 8.0-inch touchscreen, with DAB radio and MP3 compatibility and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and reversing camera system with dynamic guidelines. Advanced driver safety systems include Lane Keep Assist System and Lane Follow Assist, along with driver Attention Warning with leading vehicle departure warning.

The Ceed Sportwagon is additionally offered in ‘2 Nav’ guise, which comes with the 136hp 1.6-litre mild hybrid diesel and priced at £24,045. It adds in a USB fast charger in the front centre console, as well as a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system with the Kia Connect service.

Ceed ‘3’ specification is solely available with the 160hp 1.5 T-GDi petrol engine or the mild-hybrid 1.6-litre CRDi diesel. Prices begin at £23,795 and go up to £27,410. It adds in 17-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, rain-sensing front wipers, electrically folding, adjustable and heated door mirrors with LED indicators, dual-zone auto air con, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, rear parking sensors and a Drive Mode Select function on DCT versions.

The top hatchback version is the ‘GT-Line’, which is priced from £24,625 to £27,585, and comes with the higher-powered petrol and the diesel. It gains 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels, high gloss black door mirrors, heated front seats and steering wheel, d-cut steering wheel with leather trim and grey stitching, aluminium pedals and smart entry system with engine start/stop button. It also gets paddle shifts on the DCT models.

Kia has also updated the ProCeed shooting brake model, which comes in ‘GT-Line’, ‘GT-Line S’ and flagship ‘GT’ grades, all with more powerful petrol engines as standard.

The ProCeed ‘GT-Line’ comes equipped with the 160hp 1.5-litre T-GDi engine, with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT, priced at £25,480 and £27,330 respectively.

It features 17-inch alloy, high gloss black door mirrors and rear spoiler, rear privacy glass, auto headlight control, front fog lights, rain-sensing front wipers, electrically folding, adjustable and heated door mirrors, heated front seats and steering wheel, aluminium pedals, dual-zone auto air con, smart cruise control with stop and go functionality (DCT models), smart entry system with engine start/stop button, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation system and Kia Connect (UVO), reversing camera system and rear parking sensors.

ADAS equipment includes Lane Keep Assist System and Lane Follow Assist, along with Driver Attention Warning with leading vehicle departure warning and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with city/pedestrian and cyclist detection.

The ‘GT-Line S’ model is priced at £30,240 and comes exclusively with the 160hp 1.5-litre T-GDi engine and seven-speed DCT automatic transmission. It adds in smart power tailgate and 40:20:40 split folding rear seats with remote folding, luggage rail system, 8-speaker JBL premium audio system, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric tilting/sliding sunroof, LED bi-function headlights, LED front fog lights and wireless mobile phone charger. ADAS equipment includes Smart Park Assist, Rear Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and Safe Exit Warning.

The high-performance ProCeed ‘GT’ boasts a 201bhp 1.6-litre T-GDi engine with seven-speed DCT. Costing £30,280, it has all of the equipment featured on the ‘GT-Line’ model, plus some key additional ‘GT’-specific features including twin exhausts, 18-inch alloy wheels with red centre caps and black leather and faux suede seats with red stitching.

The new Ceed model family is available to order from Kia’s UK dealer network, with first customer deliveries starting now.
