The first of the events has already taken place at the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, enabling disabled customers to experience products from a number of different carmakers, and builds on the back of two exhibitions held in Manchester and Belfast.

Commenting on the programme, Volkswagen’s business development manager, Claire English, commented: ‘We had a lot of interest in our vehicles in Manchester and Belfast and are looking forward to being a part of the ‘One Big Day’ events. They are a great opportunity to showcase our new Polo, as well as the Golf, Scirocco, Touran and Passat Estate to Motability customers and their families.  The visitors to the event can get all the information they need from our trained Motability advisors as well as enjoying a great day out.’

The next events will be held at the following locations:

  • Westpoint, Exeter – Saturday 26th July
  • Donington Park, Derby – Thursday 7th August
  • Yorkshire Event Centre – Thursday 14th August

Completely free to attend and held mainly indoors, the One Big Day events offer disabled people the chance to find out more about the range of cars, adaptations, scooters and powered wheelchairs available to lease through the Motability scheme. Visitors can test drive a selection of cars, including some fitted with popular driving adaptations, talk to Motability advisors and gather a range of helpful information, while enjoying a fun day out with their friends and families.

Volkswagen has 14 models available on the Motability scheme to cater for drivers’ different needs and lifestyles, from the up! city car through the evergreen Polo, Golf and Passat ranges to the Sharan people carrier.  From 1 July to 30 September, highlights include the up! and new Polo with zero Advance Payment as well as the Golf with just £99 Advance Payment.
