The appointment, which follows a tender process, sees the iindependent leasing and fleet management specialist add RoSPA’s services to its portfolio of driver risk management products.

The services can be catered to drivers of cars, vans, motorbikes, HGVs or minibuses and include the RoSPA Driver Profiler, which is a web-based system that identifies individual risk by assessing the strengths and weaknesses of each driver using a series of carefully designed questions. Venson provides reports for each driver, highlighting the results and areas for improvement, along with development tips. This is supported by a Managed Service, which proactively encourages drivers to complete the questionnaire and reports back to the client on non-completion. It also enables managers to view the results and the analysis of the completed questionnaires, along with receiving recommendations.

Venson will also offer Driver Development courses in partnership with RoSPA, including interactive theory workshops and a practical in-vehicle course delivered by qualified tutors. Following an assessment by the tutor, drivers will receive detailed training development to overcome their weaknesses. Tutors fill out training reports, which are available to the driver and the client. All qualifying drivers receive a RoSPA certificate.

Clients can also request Driver E-learner courses using Venson’s online training system to focus on improving driver understanding of risks on the road, car control, defensive driving and key factors that may influence driving.

Carl Stephens, commercial director for Venson Automotive Solutions, commented: ‘This partnership is a major endorsement of the expertise Venson offers, providing businesses with an insight into driver behaviour and highlighting areas for focused training. We don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach and it’s this level of flexibility that RoSPA offers that makes the relationship a natural fit for Venson and our customers.’

Frances Richardson, director of operations at RoSPA, added: ‘We are delighted to win this contract with Venson, an impressive name in fleet management.

‘RoSPA has nearly 100 years’ worth of expertise in accident prevention and is a leading name in road safety and driver training. Our commitment is unrivalled and it is good to see proof that we also have the competitive edge in value and customer service as well.

‘We are confident that this partnership will help to improve the driving skills of many more motorists on the road.’
