Vauxhall reveals pricing and specs for majorly updated Corsa

Vauxhall has announced details for the updated Corsa and Corsa Electric following a raft of changes.

The updated Corsa is on sale now priced from £19,625

On sale now priced from £19,625, the line-up has been given a major makeover, delivering a bold new look and an additional electric powertrain, plus a simplified line-up.

Key changes include a new Corsa Electric variant, teaming up a larger 51kWh battery with an upgraded electric motor that puts out 156hp. The result is more performance along with a WLTP range of 255 miles; up 15%. It will be sold alongside the existing 136hp powertrain, which features a 50kWh battery and has an official 222-mile range. Both powertrains come as standard with an 11kW on-board charger and support the brand’s move to becoming an electric-only manufacturer from 2028.

The powertrain line-up also includes a trio of 1.2-litre petrol engines; a naturally aspirated 75hp unit paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, a turbocharged 100hp engine with a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox, and a 130hp unit available as an eight-speed automatic. They’ll be joined by a 48V mild hybrid powertrain later this year.

Design updates include the debut of Vauxhall’s ‘Vizor’ front-end, first seen on the Mokka and a key part of the brand’s latest-generation models. All models are fitted with LED headlights as standard and the top trim features Vauxhall’s IntelliLux LED Pixel Matrix light technology. The Corsa also gets the new Griffin logo and 17-inch black alloy wheels. Other changes bring interior upgrades, including a new 10-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which can be accessed wirelessly on higher-power electric models and higher-spec petrols.

Vauxhall has also simplified the grade line-up to Design, GS and Ultimate for petrol variants. The 136hp Corsa Electric will be available in Design and GS grades from 3 August while the 156hp Corsa Electric is offered from launch in GS and Ultimate trims.

Equipment on the Design trim includes LED headlights, automatic headlights and wipers and rear parking sensors. Infotainment is provided by a seven-inch touchscreen on the  136hp Electric model, while all other models receive the new 10-inch touchscreen. Driver assist technologies include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with lane keep assist and speed sign recognition.

GS trim adds a rear-view parking camera, which features a new high-resolution, panoramic display on Electric 156PS models. The alloy wheels are upgraded from 16- to 17-inches, while inside there is a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Electric GS 156hp models also feature keyless entry and start.

Finally, Ultimate trim gains Vauxhall’s IntelliLux LED Pixel Matrix light technology. Additional driver assist features include Blind Sport Alert (also available on Electric GS 156hp models) and Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Positioning Assist. There’s also heated, massaging seats finished in Alcantara and a heated steering wheel. Keyless entry and start is available on both petrol and electric variants.

First deliveries for the updated Corsa and Corsa Electric start in Q4 2023.
