The seven-seat SUV is a consistently popular model for Kia in the UK and the revamped fourth-generation version adds to the appeal by slashing £3,030 off the current entry-level model.

Kia has also reverted to a three-tier line-up – offering its usual ‘2’, ‘3’ and ‘4’ grades. These are all available with the choice of a 2.2-litre diesel with eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, or a 1.6-litre petrol hybrid (HEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the latter two equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Styling takes inspiration from the brand’s all-new EV9 flagship SUV and introduces new vertical headlights and ‘star map’ daytime running lights, plus revised alloy wheels and a new bonnet design. The gloss black radiator grille has also been revamped, along with the black side sill and wheel arch mouldings.

The interior also gets a makeover, bringing it in line with Kia’s newer SUV models and benefiting from new features, such as fingerprint recognition, dual curved 12.3-inch displays, ambient lighting, and a customisable head-up display. The new Kia Sorento also supports the Korean company’s sustainability drive with artificial leather and recycled PET cloth.

All versions come with automatic headlight control, rain-sensing front wiper, dual automatic and rear air con, heated front seats, smart entry and cruise control, plus reversing camera, sensors and a 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Sorento ‘3’ delivers upgrades such as 19-inch alloys, 12.3-inch driver display screen, power front seats and a smart power tailgate, along with a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

The top-spec ‘4’ grade throws in extra features that include a panoramic sunroof, customisable head-up display, remote smart park assist and Nappa leather upholstery.

All versions come with Kia’s seven-year/100,000-mile warranty as standard.

Order books for the new-look Sorento are open now.
