UK Fuels celebrates one year of carbon offset card

UK Fuels is celebrating a successful first year of its carbon offsetting scheme with the Radius Future fuel card.

The card enables fleets to offset 100% of the carbon their fuel usage produces via investments into renewable environmental and community projects

Companies pay 1 pence on each litre of standard fuel, enabling them to offset 100% of the carbon their fuel usage produces via investments into renewable environmental and community projects.

The project is run in partnership with Forest Carbon, a UK-government-endorsed carbon offsetting company. Investments are made into energy projects including wind, hydro, waste-to-energy, and solar power; chosen for their ability to achieve immediate carbon neutrality. And aptly even the cards themselves are recyclable.

UK Fuels, part of Radius Group, also calculates the amount of carbon businesses have offset, using UK government conversion factors that correlate litres of diesel and petrol to the equivalent emissions in tonnes of CO2.

Radius Future complements the Radius Fleetone REV card – the all-in-one EV charge card – which covers over 4,500 charge points in the UK on a no-contract, no set-up fee pricing scheme.

UK Fuels managing director Jonathan Haseler commented: “As a company, our whole strategy is now focused on helping our customers navigate to a sustainable future. This includes investing in electric vehicle charging solutions both on and off road, as well as supporting our customers on their energy transition journey. By offering our customers the carbon offsetting Radius Future solution, together we can help accelerate Britain towards the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.”
