Trakm8 technology SWIFTly recovers stolen vehicles
With the help of Trakm8's customer service staff, the SWIFT web portal located the vehicle run by the chain of builders merchants within three minutes for Jewson and it was recovered within 20 minutes.
Meanwhile Ellison’s and Matthew’s Transport have also had vehicles located by Trakm8 customer service staff and the SWIFT portal this year.
Suzie Kellaway, customer service manager at Trakm8, said: ‘We were really proud to have found the vehicle that quickly. We thought on our feet and sent a message to the unit to give us its latitude and longitude. We then cross referenced it with SWIFT to make sure it was correct and sent the location details to Jewson. Jewson had the vehicle’s location in their hands within three minutes, and it was recovered in 17 minutes.’
Jewson had the vehicle back in service very quickly so service levels were not affected.
Matt Gover, transport distribution manager at Jewson, said: 'Jewson have worked with Trakm8 for 2 years now and it is reassuring to know that there is a dedicated customer service team in place who are trained to respond swiftly in this type of emergency situation. The recovery of the vehicle was professionally handled and caused minimal disruption to our business.'
As well as accurately tracking vehicles, the SWIFT web portal is a user friendly way of viewing various reports including accurately measuring CO2 emissions, fuel usage and idling time. It is available in three packages, SWIFT Premier – the flagship package with CANbus connectivity, SWIFT Advanced – designed for mid-sized fleets, and SWIFT Classic – for simple track and trace.
