Toyota Aygo X: Pricing and trims revealed

Toyota has revealed that its new Aygo X will be priced from £14,795 when it starts pre-sales next month.

Prices for the new Aygo X start from £14,795

It’s the third-generation of the Aygo, now known as the Aygo X (pronounced Cross) to mark its move into the compact crossover sector.

Built on the Toyota Global New Architecture (TNGA) GA-B platform, first introduced with the new Yaris and more recently with Yaris Cross compact SUV, it boasts increased onboard space and ground clearance compared to the current-gen Aygo, along with higher specifications.

Three trims will be offered – Pure, Edge and Exclusive – plus a special Limited Edition model. All will focus on comfort, multimedia connectivity and a significantly enhanced Toyota Safety Sense package of active safety and driver assistance features.

The entry-level X Pure comes as standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, air con, multimedia system with 7.0-inch touchscreen, power front windows and leather steering wheel trim, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.

The Toyota Safety Sense package includes a Pre-Collision System with added range and functionality to detect more potential accident risks. It also provides full-range Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Sign Assist, Lane Trace Assist and Automatic High Beam.

Edge grade is priced from £16,495 and adds 18-inch alloys, automatic air con and wipers, rear privacy glass, front fog lights and an 8.0-inch multimedia display. It also gains extra exterior styling details and a bi-tone/metallic paint finish. Options include a large, power-operated canvas roof and a parking pack that brings front and rear intelligent clearance sonars with automatic braking function.

At the top of the core range, the Exclusive model starts from £17,715 and comes with combination cloth and synthetic leather upholstery, a wireless phone charger, LED headlights, smart entry and start and the intelligent clearance sonars with auto brake.

It also adopts the new Toyota Smart Connect multimedia system with nine-inch High Definition display, giving access to cloud-based navigation, latest road information, connected services and over-the-air updates for updates and fixes. Options for the Aygo X Exclusive are the canvas roof and a five-speaker JBL sound system with 300W amplifier.

The Limited Edition model is priced from £19,640 and features 18-inch matt black alloys, Mandarina orange highlights on the wheels, sills and front and rear bumpers, special interior design features and the retracting canvas roof. The front seats are heated and have part-leather upholstery. The bi-tone finish will feature Aygo X’s new Cardamom Green metallic paint.

All grades are powered by a 71bhp three-cylinder non mild hybrid petrol engine, with the option of five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. Performance data and other technical information will be published nearer the model’s launch date.

Pre-sales will start on 1 December, ready for the first cars to be delivered to customers in spring 2022.
