The fourth generation of the Vauxhall Corsa and Volkswagen Polo rival gets a distinctive new look, along with updated engine technology and latest connected features.

Design has been overhauled and the hatchback gets a piano-black grille and L-shaped signature lamps, three-dimensional rear combination lamps and a wide rear bumper.

The cabin has been reconfigured with a more ergonomic cockpit, featuring a centre cluster and controls angled toward the driver to ensure ease of use. The dashboard adopts a wraparound, dual-tone black and light-grey design and there’s a new front door trim, with satin plating and satin dark silver paint accents.

The Swift also comes with the brand’s latest 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid assistance to deliver enhanced fuel economy and reduced emissions, plus extra low-speed torque for greater responsiveness and overall performance.

Suzuki’s Allgrip Auto automatic four-wheel drive system will be available as an option, providing additional traction for driving on snow-covered roads or other slippery surfaces.

Equipment includes a 9-inch HD capacitive touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, voice recognition and Bluetooth music connection.

Advanced safety features include Dual Sensor Brake Support II, which uses radar and camera sensing to detect vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians in front of the vehicle, and help mitigate frontal, diagonal and lateral collisions by warning the driver and braking if needed. Other features include lane keep assist, a driver monitoring system that warns of drowsiness, lane departure prevention, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert.

Further details on technical specification and equipment will be provided closer to market launch.

The Swift has been sold in 169 countries and regions with accumulated sales of over nine million units.
