Škoda Enyaq boosted with extra range, power and equipment

Škoda’s Enyaq all-electric SUV is being revamped for the 2024 model year with a major package of engineering, design and specification enhancements.

The changes deliver more performance, faster charging, higher equipment levels and a longer range – and follow hot on the heels of a similar update to the range-topping Enyaq vRS.

On sale from 31 October 2023, the enhanced 2024MY Enyaq gains extra power across most models. The entry-level Enyaq 60 retains the same 179hp motor as before, but the former Enyaq 80 and all-wheel drive 80x – now rebranded as the Enyaq 85 and 85x – now generate 286hp. That’s up by 82hp and 21hp respectively and means the new Enyaq 85 accelerates from 0-62 mph in 6.7 seconds – 1.8 seconds quicker than before – while the figure for the 85x is 6.6 seconds, down by 0.2 seconds. Top speed for both model rises to 111mph – an increase of 12mph.

The flagship dual-motor vRS model meanwhile receives a 41hp power boost, rising to 340hp and enabling the 0-62mph dash in 5.5 seconds – that’s a second quicker than the previous model and means the Enyaq vRS is the fastest-accelerating production Škoda ever made.

All models also deliver longer electric range thanks to a raft of refinements to the Enyaq’s battery and energy management software.

The entry-level Enyaq 60, which features a 58kWh (net) battery, now has a WLTP combined range figure of 249 miles (compared to 246 before). The 85 and 85x – along with the vRS models – retain the 77kWh battery but offer increased ranges. The largest increase is seen on the Enyaq Coupé vRS, which now has a WLTP range figure of up to 340 miles; an increase of 16 miles.

The new Enyaq 85x and vRS models also gain a faster DC rapid charging speed of 175kW – up from 135kW and enabling both models to charge from 10 to 80% in approximately 29 minutes – a seven-minute improvement.

Equipment upgrades see the infotainment system updated with revised graphics and improved usability, while the ‘digital cockpit’ driver’s display and optional head-up display have also been reworked for more intuitive use.

Škoda has also reworked the trim structure, adding two new models in the form of the Enyaq 60 Edition and Enyaq 85 Edition, priced from £40,585 and £44,540. Equipment includes keyless entry and start / stop,  Adaptive Cruise Control, full LED matrix headlights, tri-zone climate control and electric tailgate with virtual pedal. Other features include heated front seats, heated multi-function steering wheel with regen paddles and electric driver’s seat with memory function.

The SportLine Plus trim now comes with all-wheel drive as standard at no premium over the previous rear-wheel-drive model, from £48,605.

The brand has also boosted equipment on the entry-level Enyaq 60, which starts at £38,970 and now comes with Driver alert, Speed assist and Traffic sign recognition as standard.

The SportLine Plus and Edition now includes walk away locking, rear side airbags and speed assist as part of the standard specification, while the range-topping vRS gains rear window blinds, electronic child locks, rear USB-C charging ports, rear side airbags, tow bar prep and Travel Assist.
