Rightcharge simplifies fleet electrification with home charging payments solution

EV charging software company Rightcharge has launched a new home charging payments solution, sparking savings and simplicity for fleets.

Fleets can cover the costs of an employee’s home charging by making payments directly to the employee’s energy account

The solution allows fleets to cover the costs of an employee’s home charging by making payments directly to the employee’s energy account, regardless of their supplier.

The service is the first part of the Rightcharge Electric Fuel Card, which is being launched in stages this year and will soon offer a public charge card to access over 30 networks plus workplace charging integrations.

Described as a technical breakthrough, the home payments charging solution allows drivers to digitally link their home energy account to the app.

As a result, electricity rates are read automatically at any time of day, regardless of whether the employee has a smart meter. The Rightcharge system instantly detects any changes to a driver’s tariff and no manual intervention is required from the driver.

It offers integrations with popular home charge points and connected vehicle integrations, which automate the experience for the majority of users.

Additionally, for those drivers whose charge point or vehicle is not yet compatible, Rightcharge offers a manual upload option, similar to submitting a meter reading, so that they can still benefit from direct-to-energy-supplier payments.

Fleets can then make one monthly payment to Rightcharge to cover all their drivers’ home charging costs.

This will be joined by fraud protection and multiple electric vehicle features soon. Rightcharge is developing a split-savings feature later in the year, which will allow fleets to incentivise their employees in return for switching to a low-rate EV tariff – it could potentially save fleets over £1,000 per year.

Charlie Cook, CEO of Rightcharge, said: “This is the future of EV fleet management and with our public charge card and workplace integrations still to come, we’re just getting started. We look forward to supporting businesses and drivers towards a more emission-free future.”

Rightcharge’s home charging payments functionality is available now, priced at £9.99 per driver per month and with a 30-day trial available here. The Electric fuel card for public charging will arrive soon, unlocking access to more than 38,000 public chargers.
