Ride-hailing app Bolt lands in Southampton

Bolt has introduced its ride-hailing service to Southampton ahead of the bank holiday weekend, providing safe, reliable and affordable mobility.

The Bolt ride-hailing service is now present in 17 cities in the UK and is continuing its expansion across the country

Billed as the UK’s second largest ride-hailing app, the service arrives with a number of launch discounts to help residents and tourists make the most of the long weekend; its arrival also coincides with a big match for the Saints at St Mary’s.

To celebrate its arrival in the city, passengers can receive up to £8 off their first Bolt ride by entering the following code into the Promotions section of the Bolt App: SOTON* when they launch.

The launch in Southampton follows Bolt’s recent debut in the nearby south coast city of Portsmouth. It’s now present in 17 cities within the UK and is continuing its expansion across the country with a target of being available in at least 20 UK cities by the end of the year.

Josh Ryan, country manager, UK rides at Bolt, said: “Our latest launch in Southampton is hugely exciting for us as it adds another community to our south coast services. We’re committed to offering passengers a great service, as well as drivers the most competitive commission rates. Bolt’s mission is to make cities work better for the people that live in them, keeping residents connected to the places and people they love.”
