A record total of 1,213 new charging devices were installed last month in the UK; the highest-ever number in a single month, according to Zap-Map.

At the end of April 2022, there were 31,507 charging points across the UK, across 19707 charging locations; up 35% since April 2021

The latest additions bring the total number of UK charging devices to 31,507 across 19,707 locations – up 35% over the past year.

Within the April figure, 259 new rapid and ultra-rapid charging devices were installed, bringing the total to 5,751 across 3,501 locations. It marks an increase of 74% in the number of ultra-rapid devices, capable of adding from 70 miles in as little as 15 minutes, since April 2021.
