The Citroën ë-C4 and ë-C4 X are now available with a new longer-range fully electric powertrain combined with the distinctive new ë-Series trim, giving extra choice to EV drivers.

The new fully electric powertrain joins the existing variant and teams up a 54kWh battery and an uprated 156hp electric motor. This gives a 260-mile WLTP driving range – up by around 17% over the existing 50kWh battery option, which remains on sale.

Both models also come with a 7.4kW single-phase onboard charger as standard, supporting up to 100kW rapid charging, with an 80% charge completed in around 30 minutes.

They’re available solely with the new top-rung ë-Series trim, priced at £37,195 OTR for both models. By way of comparison, the existing powertrain is priced from £31,995 in entry-level ‘Sense’ guise while it’s priced at £36,295 in the same ë-Series trim.

Announced last month, the new grade enhances styling, specification and technology and is available across Citroën’s core electrified range – ë-C4, ë-C4 X, C5 Aircross Hybrid 136 and C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid.

In the case of the ë-C4, the hatchback-cum-crossover is now available in three trims: ‘Sense’, ‘C-Series Edition’ and ‘ë-Series’. The latter retains the standard Advanced Comfort Suspension, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, keyless entry & start, and rear parking sensors from the other two models while also delivering a bi-tone black roof, 18-inch onyx black alloy wheels and a dark chrome colour pack.

Technology includes the 10-inch touchscreen with My Citroën Drive Plus and Connected Navigation from the mid-level trim plus the heated driver and front passenger seats, and adds in a HiFi System and wireless smartphone charging.

For the ë-C4 X saloon, the line-up now comprises ‘Sense’, ‘Shine’ and ‘ë-Series’ grades, the latter replacing the previous ‘Shine Plus’ variant and mirroring the equipment on the Ë-C4 ë-Series trim.

First deliveries of the new arrivals start in July.
