Sweet brings 26 years' experience in the motor industry for 26 years and has spent over a decade at Northgate including the last six months as regional manager in Ireland where he was responsible for all operational management throughout Southern Ireland

In his new role as area operations manager, he will be responsible for all Northgate Branch Operations in Wales and the South West and ensuring they all run smoothly and efficiently.

Northgate Vehicle Hire has sites across more than 60 locations in the UK, with its head office in Darlington.

Sweet commented: ‘I have been fortunate enough to work at Northgate for over 10 years in a number of senior positions both here in the UK and in Southern Ireland. This new position back in the South West and Wales provides me with a hugely exciting challenge. Following the many positive changes in the business, I’m looking forward to helping Northgate build on its current market leading position.’
