Nexus launches taxi service to boost business mobility

Nexus Vehicle Rental has introduced a new passenger taxi service to keep businesses mobile.

The new Nexus Go service will give access to more than 2,500 taxi companies throughout the UK, providing an alternative means of transporting people on shorter or one-way journeys

Dubbed Nexus Go, the new service will give access to more than 2,500 taxi companies throughout the UK. This will provide an alternative means of transporting people on shorter or one-way journeys – travel patterns currently challenged in the market due to supply issues.

The service is being run in partnership with ground transport provider CMAC and will provide an online taxi booking portal where they can book a vehicle planned or on-demand. The service also provides journey progress and location updates, supported by a GPS tracking facility via Google Maps, with precise location capability via what3words.

Nexus Go users will also be able to consolidate billing to incorporate journey fees and ancillary charges in full with the help of Nexus’ IRIS rental booking platform. Users will also have access to the customer management reporting suite in both on and offline accessible formats – providing them greater visibility of all costs and charges associated to their fleet on a single source platform, even whilst on the go.

David Brennan, CEO at Nexus Vehicle Rental, commented: “Over the last 18 months, the Covid-19 pandemic has presented challenges across the rental industry, one being a shift in strategy from suppliers who are moving away from supporting shorter-term hires such as one-day, one-way bookings. In response to this change, we are providing a unique solution to our customers through our partnership with the managed ground transport experts, CMAC Group, to offer a new, flexible solution that will meet the changing needs of our customers and the wider industry.”
