New Škoda Fabia modified for police fleets

Škoda has expanded its blue light fleet with a modified version of the new Fabia.

The fourth-gen Fabia joins the Kodiaq and Enyaq iV in Škoda’s latest line-up of emergency service vehicles

The fourth-generation model joins the Kodiaq and Enyaq iV in the brand’s latest line-up of emergency service vehicles and is expected to appeal through its bold design, enhanced connectivity, plus class-leading safety and interior space.

The Fabia has been a part of police fleets since the first generation arrived over two decades ago and the new model offers a choice of four petrol engines ranging from 80hp to 150hp. It can dispatch the 0-62mph sprint in as little as eight seconds and onto a top speed of 139mph for the range-topping Monte Carlo spec with the 1.5-litre 150hp engine. It’s also been engineered to offer efficient fuel consumption and improved emissions.

Latest connectivity features and technology include a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit, which makes its debut in the model and features alongside a 9.2-inch touchscreen. All variants across the range’s four trim levels – SE Comfort, SE L, Colour Edition and Monte Carlo – come equipped as standard with LED headlights, Front Assist and Lane Assist.

The blue light conversion includes 360-degree lighting and a full integration of the emergency services’ communication platform within the existing infotainment set-up, ensuring all functionality, such as the lighting and siren, can be controlled through one accessible central platform.

The Fabia, which moves onto the Volkswagen MQB A0 platform, also provides 380 litres of space – the largest in its segment and expanding to 1,190 litres with the rear seats down.

In addition to its latest architecture which has resulted in an extremely high level of torsional stiffness and improved handling technology, the Fabia also brings up to nine airbags, as well as a raft of driver assist technology including Manoeuvre Assist, Predictive Pedestrian and Cyclist Protection.

Bespoke conversions for emergency services fleets can be provided through Škoda’s ‘one-stop shop’ service. This combines the conversion, breakdown recovery, servicing, maintenance and repairs into a single package, with hassle-free finance solutions available too.
