New posher and plusher Citroën C5 Aircross launches

Citroën’s updated C5 Aircross family SUV has officially launched, introducing bolder styling and a more premium approach.

Priced from £26,930, the revised C5 Aircross is available with petrol/diesel engines and a PHEV version

Priced from £26,930, it’s available in Sense Plus, Shine and C-Series Edition trims, all featuring a new front-end design with revised V-shaped LED lights and a reworked front grille. This is matched by enhanced styling at the rear.

Equipment goes more premium too. The model comes as standard with the brand’s Advanced Comfort suspension system – which uses Progressive Hydraulic Cushions to absorb bumps in the road and to keep passengers comfortable. It also features newly designed Advanced Comfort Seats with high-density foam and an additional 15mm top layer of memory foam to bring added support.

Onboard standard tech includes a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a new 10-inch high-definition touchscreen repositioned to help eliminate driver distraction.

PureTech petrol and BlueHDi diesel engines are available across the range, paired with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed EAT8 automatic gearbox.

Shine and C-Series Edition models are also available with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that combines a 180hp petrol engine, a 109hp electric motor and an eight-speed auto gearbox – delivering 225hp and up to 38 miles of electric-only combined range. Its official emissions from 32g/km CO2 also slot it into the 12% Benefit-in-Kind bracket for the current tax year.

Equipment on Sense Plus models, which replace the previous Sense versions, includes 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, along with a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry and start, and electric folding exterior mirrors.

Shine trim adds in a drive assist pack including adaptive cruise control, plus a dark chrome colour pack, Alcantara upholstery and active safety brake with video and radar assistance. An Urban Black styling theme further enhances the upmarket feel in the cabin.

The top-spec C-Series Edition gains a black bi-tone roof with an exclusive anodised bronze colour pack and larger 19-inch diamond-cut bi-tone alloys, plus an upgraded interior. There is also an opening panoramic glass sunroof, wireless charging and a motorised tailgate with hands-free access. Safety is enhanced via the Drive Assist Pack that comes with Highway Driver Assist – a level 2 semi-autonomous technology combining adaptive cruise control (with stop & go) and active lane keeping assist.
