Mitsubishi vehicles to help Met during coronavirus crisis

Mitsubishi has put 10 vehicles on loan to help the Metropolitan Police Service with work during the coronavirus crisis.

A mix of Mitsubishi ASX and Outlander PHEV models are on loan to help the Met during the coronavirus crisis

The vehicles – a mixture of Mitsubishi ASX and Outlander PHEV models – were on site at Mitsubishi Motors’ Cirencester headquarters and were made available within a day of receiving the request to provide help.

The vehicles are currently in daily use by the police in the nation’s capital where they will remain for as long as is necessary.

Clive Messenger, general manager – fleet operations, Mitsubishi, said: “Our small contribution pales in comparison to the sacrifices our emergency services, NHS staff, carers and key workers are making, but we are happy to help where we can.”

Other work by the carmaker to support key workers includes keeping many dealerships open for the service and repair of key worker vehicles and pausing the service windows on the Mitsubishi Service Plan so drivers still have time to claim their service after the lockdown has ended.
