Volkswagen is bringing back the Match trim line to multiple models across its range, delivering greater value for customers.

The Match returns for 10 Volkswagen models, including electric vehicles such as the flagship ID.7

The badge – previously used for many VW models to denote improved specification and great value for money – now returns for 10 Volkswagen models, including electric vehicles.

The Polo, T-Cross, Taigo, T-Roc, Tiguan and Touran are all now available in Match trim, adding significant levels of equipment compared with the Life grade they’re based on (SE Family for Touran).

The Match grade is also now available with the ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5 electric vehicles – delivering added equipment, alongside lower on-the-road prices.

The revived grade also features in the ID.7 line-up, coinciding with the arrival of Volkswagen’s flagship EV in UK showrooms.

Rod McLeod, director of Volkswagen UK, said: “We have a rich heritage with Match trims, which have always represented great value for money for our customers. Launching them now across 10 models in a variety of segments – including electric – gives people lots of choice and will hopefully help us to build on our success as the UK’s best-selling new car brand.”

For internal combustion engine (ICE) models, the Match grade sits above the Life trim (SE Family on the Touran), costing around £175 to £705 more but adding in equipment such as larger alloy wheels, metallic paint, tinted windows, rear-view camera and keyless entry.

For electric vehicles, the Match builds on previous derivatives of the brand’s EVs, delivering extra features that include metallic paint, electric tailgate, exterior pack and assistance pack, while cutting on-the-road prices by up to £4,300.

For the ID.3, the new Match trims replace the previous Pro and Pro S, and an additional Pro S Essential trim is also now available for £39,190.

For the ID.4, the Pro Match and Pro 4M Match replace the previous Life and Style trims, and a new entry-level Pure Match trim is available for £42,640.

The ID.7 Pro Match replaces the previously announced Launch Edition; it adds metallic paint and an exterior pack and is priced at £51,550.
