Los Angeles debut for Mazda CX-3
Set to be badged CX-3, the newcomer is likely to share a platform with the forthcoming Mazda2 supermini, as well as adopting the supermini’s 1.5-litre Skyactiv petrol and diesel engines in the European market, though details have not been confirmed as yet.
The CX-3 will join the growing B-SUV segment when it launches, against contenders such as the Renault Captur, Vauxhall Mokka, Peugeot 2008 and best-selling Nissan Juke. Mazda has enjoyed widespread success with its larger CX-5, which has outstripped demand since it launched in 2012.
It makes its global debut at the show’s press day, on the 19th November.
