Euro 6 engines bring Ford Kuga down to 122g/km CO2
The new Euro 6 compliant engine range includes two versions of the 2.0-litre TDCi, as fitted to 95% of UK cars, offering either 148bhp or 177bhp and replacing the outgoing 138bhp and 161bhp units fitted from launch.
At the most fuel-efficient end of the range, the 2.0 TDCi with front-wheel drive now returns 60.1mpg – up from 53.3mpg – and emits 122g/km instead of 139g/km for the old model.
Four-wheel drive models have also improved with the new engines, with both power outputs offering CO2 emissions of 135g/km and 54.3mpg with a manual transmission or 140g/km and 52.3mpg with the six-speed automatic.
Petrol options now comprise 148bhp and 180bhp versions of the new 1.5-litre EcoBoost turbo, replacing the old 1.6-litre EcoBoost. The former is only offered with front-wheel drive and returning 45.6mpg with CO2 emissions of 143g/km, while the latter is four-wheel drive only and offers up to 38.2mpg while emitting 171g/km CO2.
