Due to launch in the second half of 2023, the revised model benefits from a series of upgrades to increase its appeal and capability.

This includes a new, more powerful battery with a 72.8kWh capacity compared to the current 54.35kWh. This will increase official WLTP combined range to 280 miles (450km) for models on 17-inch wheels, while those with 18-inch wheels should be able to cover up to 273 miles (440km) – compared to the current 196 miles. Maximum power remains 204hp with 300Nm maximum torque.

The UX 300e will also gain detailed changes to the body and chassis, enhancing driving, including through fine-tuning of the steering and shock absorber settings to sharpen dynamic performance, while additional spot-welding increases body rigidity. Improved sound insulation will also enhance refinement.

Other changes include the addition of the latest Lexus Link multimedia systems, already seen in the UX 250h and delivering faster response, more intuitive, human-centred operation and increased functionality. Link Connect spec models will get an 8.0-inch display, rising to 12.3-inch for the Link Pro trim; both sited closer to the driver to aid usage.

“Always connected” cloud-based navigation is provided as standard and the Lexus Link Pro system has embedded navigation, so operation is available in areas where cloud connection is not available.

The system’s new voice recognition system also includes the option of using the “Hey Lexus” on-board assistant while smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay (wireless connection) or Android Auto (wired connection) is provided as standard. Drivers can use the Lexus app to lock or unlock the doors or operate the aircon remotely. Software on the multimedia system can also be updated over-the-air.

The UX 300e also gets improved Lexus Safety System+ safety and driver assistance functions and a wider choice of upholsteries and trims.

The revised UX 300e will launch in the UK during the second half of 2023 – prices and specifications will be announced nearer the on-sale date.
