Taking place tomorrow, 17th July, the event takes place at the Donnington Park Racing Circuit and will bring together a select group from leading corporations including Network Rail, EDF, Romec and DHL.

Sponsored by Mercedes, the day will consist of a number of activities designed to inspire attendees to think about what they can be doing to improve the safety of their drivers and foster a culture of responsibility within the business.

Masternaut will head-up a telematics-based event on the day, challenging delegates to navigate a circuit of the track in the safest possible manner. Driving Mercedes Sprinter Vans fitted with Masternaut’s telematics solutions, attendees’ driving will be assessed in real-time for speeding, harsh braking and accelerating and idling time, with scores compiled into a leader-board in order to identify the safest driver.

Other activities taking place will include ABS testing, parallel parking challenges, safety best practice sharing and an interactive discussion on road risk led by Balfour Beatty’s driver risk manager, Robert Lindsay. The day will conclude with Masternaut and Balfour Beatty awarding one attendee the accolade of the Driver Challenge Champion!

Steve Towe, European managing director of Masternaut, said: ‘With business drivers twice as likely to crash as private motorists, improving fleet safety is fundamental in reducing the untenable rate of work-related accidents. Last month, Masternaut was recognised for its work with Balfour Beatty Fleet Services, by the Brake Fleet Safety Awards 2013, and we’re proud to be working together through events such as this to bring safety to the top of the business agenda. We look forward to what promises to be an enjoyable and informative event.’
