Priced at £36,495 and £41,995 respectively, the GT-Line and GT-Line S variants come with the range’s sole engine – a 197bhp 2.2-litre diesel – and feature 19-inch alloys and red brake calipers along with twin exhaust pipes, stainless steel side steps and Kia’s ice cube-style front foglights. The GT-Line has projection headlights while GT-Line S has LED headlights with a dynamic bending function.

Both models also come as standard with Kia’s new eight-speed auto gearbox and paddle shifters in GT-Line and GT-Line S. The new gearbox replaces the former six-speed auto and brings slightly improvements in official combined fuel consumption and emissions, which change to 43.5mpg and 170g/km compared to 42.8mpg and 174g/km for the six-speed auto with 18-inch wheels.

The new gearbox is also available as an option for KX-2 and KX-3 versions while the KX-1 is offered solely with a six-speed manual gearbox, bringing emissions from 149g/km and combined fuel economy up to 49.6mpg and priced at £28,995.
Equipment levels on KX-1, KX-2 and KX-3 versions remain unchanged other than the introduction of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
