JCT600 Contracts to supply breathalysers with all new cars

The kits will be calibrated to the lower blood/alcohol level set by French law, and are aimed at better informing drivers before they take to the wheel. Managing Director, Andrew Mann, said he agreed with the decision to mandate carrying breathalysers while driving through France, adding that he believes the move is a sign of things to come.

‘Even if it doesn’t become a European directive over the next few years, anything that can help reduce the chances of an ‘over the limit’ driver getting behind the wheel must be worth trying.  It’s a neat amendment of the adage, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink,’ he said.

‘Which of us hasn’t wondered about our blood alcohol level ‘the morning after the night before?’
