Jaguar and Lexus & Volkswagen up! take lead spots in 2014 JD Power survey

Held during the first quarter of the year, the What Car?/JD Power study surveyed over 15,000 motorists on four key areas, covering vehicle appeal (which includes performance, design, comfort and features), vehicle quality and reliability, ownership costs and dealer service satisfaction.

Jaguar and Lexus were found to be the joint top manufacturers this year. Jaguar has held the top position for the past two years, and Lexus held the top position for 11 years before that.

Meanwhile the car with the highest overall rating and the winner of the city car category is the Volkswagen Up, with respondents highly rating its reliability, easiness to drive, interior space and fuel efficiency.

The second-placed model is the Volkswagen Golf Plus, closely followed by the Skoda Yeti.
