In-Car Cleverness launches driver app to support telematics device

Dubbed “Journey Logger”, the system allows the driver to allocate each trip to either business or personal usage remotely. Importantly, this data is then fed automatically into the central administrative function, allowing for accurate and time-saving HMRC compliance.

The app also offers vehicle security functionality. By enabling the Valet Mode on the App, the driver will be automatically alerted by text and email should the vehicle move beyond a 100m perimeter of its location or exceed 25mph.

Mirroring the online dashboard, the app also provides drivers with visibility of their driving style (speeding, acceleration, braking etc), vehicle health check monitoring and speeding events.

Meanwhile the “Nearest Fuel” and “Local Parking” services provide ranking by distance from current position, as well as cost.

In-Car Cleverness added that its developers will continue to add new features to app in the coming months. The first of these will be improved analysis of Driving Risk, which will overlay driving behaviours with road ratings.

The app will, initially, be launched on Apple (iOS7) with an Android version due for release later in the year.

The In-Car Cleverness telematics system has been designed to support fleets regardless of the size. It is now available on a two to five-year lease scheme, starting from £10 per vehicle per month.
