Priced from £20,770, the upgraded supermini gets a latest design featuring a revised front bumper and radiator grille, together with a redesigned bumper and new Z-shaped LED rear lamps. New designs for the 16- and 17-inch wheels are available along with eight exterior colours – debuting three new options including Lucid Lime Meta.

Latest connectivity features featured as standard include USB type-C and over-the-air (OTA) map updates are introduced alongside popular features from the previous model, such as the 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation (from Premium Trim and above), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charger, and the latest update to Bluelink telematics.

More Hyundai Smart Sense safety features come as standard, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) for ‘City’, ‘Interurban’, ‘Pedestrian’ and ‘Cyclist’ and Lane Following Assist (LFA) ensures that the vehicle stays in the current lane of travel.

Optional safety systems include rear cross-traffic collision assist, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist and navigation-based smart cruise control.

The new i20 also offers a more simplified powertrain line up, with all models available with the 100hp turbocharged, three-cylinder petrol and a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission. CO2 and MPG figures are to be confirmed.

In a range realignment, the new i20’s range now starts with the Advance trim from £20,770, followed by the Premium from £22,570 and the i20 Ultimate from £24,070.

The Advance includes an 8-inch touchscreen display audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.25-inch supervision instrument cluster with customisable functions, front USB-C port, manual air con, cruise control with speed limiter function, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, front and rear parking sensors with rear view camera and electrically adjustable and heated wing mirrors. Hyundai’s SmartSense safety package is also standard.

The Premium upgrades to 17-inch alloys, front fog lamps, power-folding door mirrors and privacy glass. It also adds in automatic wipers, automatically dimming rear view mirror, automatic air con with climate control, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and front arm rest. Other upgrades bring a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation, as well as Hyundai’s Bluelink telematics system with a free three-year subscription.

The Ultimate includes Smart Key with keyless entry and engine start/stop button, a wireless charging pad for compatible devices, blind-spot collision warning and forward collision assist with cyclist detection. It also carries over the Bose Premium Sound System seen in the previous model.

As before, the i20 offers 352 litres of boot space with the rear seats up, and 1,165 litres with the rear seats folded down.

All new i20 models come with Hyundai’s five-year unlimited mileage warranty, roadside assistance package, five-year annual health check, and 12-year anti-corrosion warranty.
