Hyundai i10 updated for 2023

Hyundai is revising its i10 city car with enhanced design and new equipment in a mid-life refresh.

The first facelifited models are due in the second half of 2023

The third-generation model launched in 2019 and the updates are said to make it more competitive in its class.

Key changes include the arrival of a wide range of equipment and smart technologies said to be more commonly found in higher segments. These include a 4.2-inch LCD driver’s display as standard, along with USB type-C connector in the front and rear and over-the-air updates.

New advanced driver assistance features debut and include Lane Following Assist and Rear Occupant Alert while the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist is updated with the addition of cyclist detection.

Design changes are minimal and include updates to the headlights, grille and rear LED-combined lights. The model also features newly designed 15‑inch alloy wheels and comes in an updated line-up of nine exterior colours and a black two-tone roof.

Inside, the model gets blue mood lamps in the front seats while a new Purple Package debuts and features tartan fabric seats with vertical purple lines, as well as purple touches in the stitching and air vents.

The range also includes the sporty i10 N Line variant, which is inspired by Hyundai’s high-performance N models. It gets design features inspired by motorsport, including bespoke bumpers, inserts, and red touches. The backs of the seats feature triple red line fabric, and the model comes with new 16‑inch alloy wheels.

Engine line-up hasn’t been announced but is expected to carry over the current units, which comprise 67hp 1.0-litre and 84hp 1.2-litre petrols and the 100hp 1.0-litre turbo petrol in the N Line.

Production of the new i10 is planned to begin in April 2023 and the first units are expected to arrive on European roads in the second half of the year.

UK specs and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
