Hyundai has upgraded its Bayon compact SUV with new design and technology features for 2024.

The Bayon gets new design and technology features for 2024

The brand’s entry-level crossover launched in Europe in 2021, targeting drivers looking for a more style-conscious B-SUV.

Updates for 2024 include an LED DRL (Daytime Running Lights) bar integrated into the light signature, plus a revised front bumper and grille that get a bolder and more rugged appearance.

The rear also features a redesigned bumper, while newly designed 16- and 17-inch wheels have been added.

The interior now comes with a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, with a separate 10.25-inch infotainment screen as standard and enhanced interior lighting. Features carried over include the optional 10.25-inch configurable digital cluster with different graphics, depending on the drive mode, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger, and the latest update to the brand’s Bluelink connected services.

The Bayon also offers two USB-C ports – one in the front and one in the rear – a front USB-A port, and a premium Bose sound system, comprising eight speakers including a subwoofer.

Bayon now features second-generation eCall based on the 4G network, which automatically alerts emergency services if the vehicle’s airbags are deployed in case of an accident, or can be activated via a press of a button.

Advanced driver assistance features include lane following assist, forward collision avoidance assist, navigation-based smart cruise control, blind spot collision avoidance assist and driver attention warning, which works in tandem with leading vehicle departure alert.

UK specification, prices and engine line-up are yet to be confirmed. The current model starts from £21,570 and includes a 1.0-litre petrol mild hybrid engine, delivering either 100hp or 120hp and paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DCT auto.
