Honda reveals pricing for hybrid and PHEV CR-V

Honda has confirmed pricing and specifications for the new CR-V SUV in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid guise.

The sixth-gen CR-V gains a new e:PHEV powertrain, alongside the all-wheel drive e:HEV hybrid

Priced from £45,895, the sixth generation of the Kia Sportage and Škoda Kodiaq rival was revealed in May and gains a new e:PHEV powertrain; a first for the European market and able to deliver up to 50 miles of all-electric range with emissions from 18g/km.

It’s offered alongside the all-wheel drive e:HEV, based on the fully hybrid powertrain seen in the Civic and using a lithium-ion battery and two compact, lightweight electric motors combined with the petrol engine, generating 184hp of power and able to deliver EV, Hybrid and Engine Drive modes. It has official fuel economy of 42.8mpg.

The hybrid is available in two grades: Elegance and Advance. Elegance is priced from £45,985 and includes a 9-inch infotainment screen, leather seats, wireless charger, full digital driver’s display, power tailgate, panoramic glass roof and the Honda Sensing 360 safety system. In fact, the CR-V is the first European model to get the latter safety and driver assist system which removes blind spots around the vehicle.

Advance starts from £48,995 and adds in head-up display, multi-view camera system, heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, front cooling seats and premium Bose sound system.

The PHEV is solely available in the top-spec Advance Tech, priced from £53,995 and with head-up display, multi-view camera system, Honda Parking Pilot, heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, front cooling seats, premium Bose sound system, My Honda+ app connectivity.

New design features bring a more aggressive front-end, marking e:HEV and e:PHEV variants out with their own exclusive grille design. The new-gen CR-V also debuts thin headlights and new signature daytime running lights, while taillights are upgraded with a vertical brake light and turn signal combination.

The latest CR-V is also wider, longer, and taller than the outgoing model – its 40mm longer wheelbase gives more interior space, including 16mm more rear legroom and an 18% increase in luggage capacity.

Order books open on Monday 14 August.
