Genesis reveals UK prices and specs for Electrified G80 saloon

Genesis has announced details for its Electrified G80 saloon, which is on sale now, priced from £65,000 and with up to 321 miles of range.

The Electrified G80 is the second all-electric Genesis to make its UK debut following the launch of the GV60

Despite the name implying it’s some form of hybrid, the Electrified G80 is all-electric and brings a rival to model such as the Mercedes EQE.

It’s the second battery-powered electric Genesis to make its UK debut following the launch of the GV60 and follows hot on the heels of the unveiling of the Electrified GV70 at Goodwood.

Hyundai’s premium brand offshoot has already said it’s going electric-only for all new models, starting from 2025. It aims to build an EV line-up consisting of eight models and with global sales expected to reach 400,000 units per year. The end goal is for Genesis to become a 100% zero-emission vehicle brand by 2030 and carbon-neutral by 2035.

The Electrified G80 joins the existing G80 rear-wheel drive 2.2-litre diesel and all-wheel drive 2.5-litre petrol and features an all-wheel-drive dual motor powertrain that delivers 370hp of power and is connected to an 87.2kWh battery.

Its 800-volt architecture enables the G80 to charge from 10 to 80% in 21 minutes using a 350kW rapid charger. A solar roof panel can be specified as an option and is said to be able to add over 1,000km (620 miles) of range over the course of a year.

It’s available exclusively in Luxury guise, which comes with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch high-definition touchscreen infotainment display, a 17-speaker Lexicon sound system, and latest advanced driver safety assistance features.

High-grade premium materials reinforce the brand’s quality focus, while the availability of naturally dyed leather upholstery and recycled Forged Wood trim underlines its commitment to luxury and sustainability.

As with all Genesis EV customers, drivers of the Electrified G80 can access the ‘Genesis Charging’ programme, which offers customers a Europe-wide electric charging solution including up to 275,000 charging locations. These are accessed via a single app and charge card, while billing for home and public charging are streamlined into a single account. Customers also benefit from dedicated, 24-hour emergency support.
