Furniture Village goes electric with Peugeot e-2008 fleet

Peugeot has won a deal to supply 25 e-2008s to Furniture Village, which is adopting a fully electric fleet.

The independent furniture retailer said the compact electric SUV was the ideal car for the business as it pushes ahead with electrification under company-wide plans for sustainability.

The e-2008 was chosen for its size and electric range; it’s powered by a 50kWh battery connected to a 136hp electric motor and offers up to a 214-mile WLTP range.

The vehicles will be used by a mix of field managers and store managers as they travel between Furniture Village’s various UK locations, as well as used to visit customer homes.

Charlie Harrison, commercial director, Furniture Village, said: “With its range of over 200 miles and rapid charging capability, the e-2008 is well-suited to the needs of our employees as they travel to and from our 54 stores and 12 fulfilment centres nationwide and customers’ homes.”

Furniture Village is also installing EV charge points at all of its stores and fulfilment centres across the UK.

The e-2008 forms part of Peugeot’s electrification strategy, which will see the brand provide electrified variants of each model in its range by 2024.
