The two trim lines will go on sale from the end of 2013 and will offer a redesigned grille and headlights as well as additional alloy wheel designs, a new steering wheel, upholstery and dash on the interior, and the inclusion of a rear-view camera for the first time.

The City trim will feature body-coloured bumpers, underride guard, side mouldings and door sill while those on the outdoor version remain in black plastic.

There’s also four new Simply Clever solutions, comprising a double-sided floor covering and LED light in the boot, a vest holder under the driver's seat and a waste container in the side door.

However, the Yeti’s VarioFlex rear seat system has been retained along with boot capacity of 405 litres rising to 1,760 litres.

The engine line-up comprises four diesel and three petrol engines – all turbocharged and with direct injection and with option of a DSG twin-clutch gearbox and a Haldex-coupling all-wheel-drive variant.

The range includes the GreenLine version 1.6 TDI with front wheel drive and a manual gearbox, which produces CO2 emissions of 119 g/km and offers fuel economy of 61mpg. There are also threeGreen tec engine variants: the 1.4 TSI 120bhp, 2.0 TDI/138bhp with manual six-speed gearbox, and 1.6 TDI/102bhp with seven-speed DSG. These include the Start-Stop System, brake energy recovery (recuperation) and low rolling resistance tyres.

Pricing and specification will be announced nearer to the on sale date.
