FORS launches road safety toolkit to support Project EDWARD Week of Action

FORS, the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, has created a free, downloadable, road safety toolkit to help operators across the UK champion Project EDWARD’s ‘Week of Action’ road safety initiative.

This year’s Project EDWARD campaign takes place this week from 15-19 May and the FORS Toolkit provides background on the charity and explains how fleets can support the Week of Action by engaging on their social channels.

It also includes suggested content for social posts with images along with promotional ideas for each of the five days of activity, which explore the themes of safe roads, safe vehicles, safe speeds and safe road users.

FORS concession director Ian Henderson said: “We wholeheartedly applaud Project EDWARD for the work they do in celebrating road safety schemes across the UK. We know many of our accredited operators work hard to support road safety initiatives in their communities, so this gives them a chance to showcase some of those efforts.”

Henderson continued: “The response to the toolkit so far has been fantastic, with more than 300 downloads in the first five days. We’d like to share the toolkit far and wide, so whether you’re part of the FORS community or not, please feel free to download the document to access some practical ideas and guidance.”

Project EDWARD will also speak at the FORS Annual Conference this year to further spread its message and raise awareness of its work. The FORS Annual Conference is being held on 2 November at the International Convention Centre Birmingham, with the theme being ‘Building a resilient FORS Community for the road ahead’.
