On sale from early 2014, the model features a specially calibrated 99bhp version of the EcoBoost engine along with ECOnetic Technology including special tyres, unique aerodynamics and revised gearing.

The result is fuel economy of 67.5mpg as well as emissions of 99g/km, making it exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty and putting it in the 11% BiK bracket.

The new model joins the existing standard 99bhp version of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine with 109g/km CO2 emissions and the 123bhp model with 114g/km CO2.

The 1.0-litre EcoBoost unit is already available in the Fiesta, B-MAX, C-MAX and seven-seat Grand C-MAX and will be added to the line-up for the forthcoming new Mondeo as well as the EcoSport SUV, Transit Connect and Transit Courier commercial vehicles and Tourneo Connect people mover.

The move comes as Ford announces the launch of new sat nav trim levels aimed at fleets. The Focus Zetec Navigator is offered in addition to the standard Zetec series and adds Ford nav, new 16in alloy wheels and centre console.

The Titanium Navigator series replaces the Titanium series and adds Sony sat nav, new 16in alloy wheels and rear parking sensors.  The Titanium X Navigator replaces the Titanium X series, offering Sony sat nav nav, rear view camera and new 17in alloy wheels. The models carry a £250 uplift over the current Zetec and Titanium prices.
