Ford has secretly dropped the 1.5 ecoboost Petrol engine from the Mondeo Line up and added a Hybrid version in Zetec spec. This means the only engine options are Hybrid and the 2 ecoblue diesel engines at 150ps and 190ps.
This came about as our fleet policy dropped the diesel for Petrol power only (not my choice at 40k a year) and new orders have been stopped due to the engine. The petrol hybrid makes the estate version unpractical due to the bad battery location taking up a lot of boot space (the exact reason I need an estate!) Can you do some digging around at Ford to see if this will now be the only engines choices for what seems like the final nail in Mondeos uncertain future.
