Fleet World named best Automotive Business Publication

Fleet World magazine has been awarded the best Automotive Business Publication title at the 2022 Newspress awards.

Tim Barfoot of Newspress presents the Automotive Business Publication award to John Challen, Fleet World’s editor

The annual event recognises excellence in automotive journalism and PR and saw Fleet World fight off competition from other shortlisted titles in the B2B sector to take the overall accolade at a special awards ceremony coinciding with the Newspress LIVE! event at Bicester Heritage, Oxfordshire on 21 July.

The award comes just nine months after Fleet World appointed John Challen as its new editor and the judges praised his work to take the magazine to even greater heights.

The titles were awarded by a wholly independent judging panel made up of experienced media experts.

The judging panel stated of Fleet World: “A worthy victor in this category. For its light touch, comprehensive coverage and targeted content for a specific audience, Fleet World edged it. One judge said the publication had improved with a new editor.”

The Fleet World website was also shortlisted in the overall Best Automotive website category while editor-at-large Alex Grant took the Star Car Award for his Volkswagen Polo Mk3 G40.

“I’m delighted to collect this award from Newspress on behalf of the whole Fleet World team. Every issue, we strive to give readers the information they need to improve their fleets – but also create a product that is entertaining and enjoyable to read,” commented John Challen, editor, Fleet World. “Winning the best Automotive Business Publication is testament to the efforts of not only the in-house Fleet World team, but also the expert and insightful contributors we have at our disposal.”

Jerry Ramsdale, Fleet World Group’s publisher, added: “Fleet World – incorporating Van Fleet World – has always sought to provide thought-provoking features that both inform and entertain, and this award is recognition that the magazines we produce, including our interactive EV Fleet World Digital Magazine, alongside our Great British Fleet Event and online portfolio, continue to go from strength to strength.”
